Vanilla Fig Barrel Aged Balsamic Vinegar
Made with Black Mission figs, this vinegar is the perfect marinade for pork roast, or have a special treat and drizzle on New York style cheesecake.
True balsamic vinegar is made from a reduction of pressed Trebbiano and Lambrusco grapes. The resulting thick syrup, called mosto cotto in Italian, is subsequently aged for a minimum of 12 years in a battery of seven barrels of successively smaller sizes. The casks are made of different woods like chestnut, acacia, cherry, oak, mulberry, ash, and, in the past, juniper. True balsamic vinegar is rich, glossy, deep brown in color and has a complex flavor that balances the natural sweet and sour elements of the cooked grape juice with hints of wood from the casks.
That was what I said the first time I tasted the products at a Christmas event in Evanston, IL.; before I knew the name of the company. Vanilla Fig is my favorite balsamic right now and I don't know when I'll stop craving it. The best!
This is my favorite oil!! It's is the most versatile in my opinion. I use for dipping but also for dressings or just solo! I love over caprese skewers.
OMG’s Vanilla Fig Balsamic is by far the BEST vinegar ever! My husband and I love it so much we’re on our second case. I make a salad every night for dinner and never get sick of this dressing. It is honestly OMG fantastic!!
This was absolutely wonderful on my vanilla bean ice cream! Can’t wait to top on other desserts and even roast pork!
This is our favorite vinegar. We use it for dipping, as a marinade, and in our salad dressing. Great taste, we love it.
